Youth Social Innovation Certificate Program

youth

Fees will be notified. It includes learning materials, exam and certificates

This certificate program is designed to enable the Social development of students while they hone their career. Giving back to society is something that we at SRUSHTI have always believed in. Through this program, students learn theories of change, case studies of youth social innovation, and how to co-create change with the community. This includes both theory & practice.

Students learn how to move from IDEA to ACTION. They learn to understand any social problem empathetically, define their problem statement, ideate solutions, make a prototype, and test their ideas to bring out a solution. They get their training from experts in this field, who have initiated multiple innovative social change projects over the past decades.

Students are also trained in co-creation, a methodology evolved from grassroots work on Srushti, which uses art processes, and the Human-Centered Design methodology used at Stanford. D. school.

Project-Based Learning Approach:

At SRUSHTI, we believe that students learn best by doing. Research has shown that students engaged in projects have better learning outcomes compared to mere textbook learning. In this Project-based learning methodology, students work on a Srushti Idea Challenge by themselves and also have hands-on experience to facilitate peer training. Students undertake a real-time project,  to work on a social issue, that concerns them, and will try to co-create a solution, together with people, for whom they are finding a solution. They also learn about theories on social change.

Students are expected to work on a 6-week project and submit their learning through a paper presentation at the Youth Social Innovation Conference.

After completion of the project, they will learn how to sustain their project and develop it as a social enterprise.
